Aren Marcus Jackson (A.J.) , Tia Torres' husband, is not in jail for life. He was arrested again in 2007 for a parole violation after a raid on the Villalobos ranch turned up a stolen motorcycle. A.J. was threatened with life imprisonment due to California's three strikes law. He agreed to a plea deal to avoid life in prison. A.J. is currently inmate #AD6800 at High Desert State Prison. Tia Torres started the Villalobos Rescue Center in Agua Dulce, California. It was the state's largest pit bull shelter. She began employing parolees at the suggestion of her husband. She agreed to appear on Animal Planet's show, Pitbulls and Parolees to help defray the costs of running the animal shelter. The shelter has expenses upwards of $25,000 per month.
