Ken Jennings won the most Jeopardy! matches ever in a row – 74, and has earned $3,196,300 (including tournament play) in total.
Jennings' run, which started on June 2, 2004 set game show records for the longest streak. It turned him into a folk hero and raised the show’s ratings 22% over the same period in 2003.
The Final Jeopardy! question that tripped him up was: "Most of this firm’s 70,000 seasonal white-collar employees work only four months a year.”
Jennings guessed Federal Express, but it was; in fact, tax preparer H&R Block. Ventura, Calif., real estate agent Nancy Zerg guessed correctly, unseating Jennings with a final score of $14,001 to $8,799.
